Darwin and the M OUNT

Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England.  If you were to write to him when he was a boy, the letter would be addressed to Chas. Darwin, Esq., The Mount, Shrewsbury.  This website commemorates the coincidence in the name of Darwin’s birthplace and the College’s nickname and the bicentennial of his birth with resources and links to regional activities.   You can also hear his great grandson, Quentin Keynes, give a short presentation on the coelacanth during his 1988 visit to the Mount by clicking on the podcast link above.
